Legion Expansion Launches on 27 May

The EVE keynote at Fanfest was packed with exciting news about EVE’s upcoming Legion expansion, the limited-time open pre-alpha access event for Vanguard in September, exciting summer news for EVE Frontier and a variety of other updates. Legion expansion is imminent

The highlight of the Fanfest keynote was the announcement of EVE’s next expansion - Legion - releasing on 27 May!

Legion ushers in a new era in New Eden – one built on unity, ambition, influence, and the strength of capsuleers working together. Make your mark through Freelance Jobs that connect you to legendary players who have made EVE Online what it is today, and to those that are creating the New Eden of tomorrow. Two fearsome new warships bring ultimate firepower and resilience, designed to dominate the battlefield and inspire awe. 

The Babaroga, a Triglavian marauder, delivers brutal entropic disintegrator damage and its bastion module unleashes record-breaking subcap DPS.  

The Sarathiel, an agile and fierce Angel Cartel dreadnought, unleashes fast, long-range capital-class destruction, enjoys big bonuses to capital projectile damage and falloff, and the unique ability to use a capital micro jump drive (CJMD) in siege mode!

Shape Your Space

New sovereignty upgrades will bring more control and dynamism to your nullsec territories. Mold your space and expand your strategies with powerful new sovereignty upgrades that provide new exploration opportunities and even greater leverage over your resources.

Firstly, new upgrades are being introduced that let you generate new colony resources by utilizing existing ones. Each one comes in three tiers, allowing for more flexibility when shaping your space to match the activities and ambitions of you and your corpmates. 

Four new upgrades that consist of paired bonuses are also being added, allowing sovereignty owners to tailor their systems to fit their preferred combat styles, ships, and modules. For example, one of the system modifiers will apply a gamma effect to benefit your shield doctrines and capacitor capacity. Another plasma effect system modifier will benefit your armor comp and module overheating. 

Finally, an improved version of the exploration upgrades that spawn data and relic sites are being re-introduced, complete with a new distribution system that will affect the spawn rate of these sites for several systems instead of just one. These upgrades will also have a guaranteed spawn rate upon installation and a chance at an escalation path across each of the tiers with new rewards.  

Furthermore, orbital skyhook conquest costs will be greatly reduced with the ability to capture existing skyhooks, making your road to conquest more streamlined.

These upgrades will bring greater flexibility and opportunity to nullsec, enabling alliances to invest in infrastructure that reflects their ambitions and adapt more rapidly to changing circumstances.

The result is a more dynamic, rewarding sovereignty system that offers corporations new ways to support their members, compete on equal footing, and build a lasting legacy.

Introducing Nemesis!

Also announced was Nemesis, a limited-time Open Pre-Alpha Access event for EVE Vanguard. Beginning 16 September, Nemesis will mark the final opportunity for players to deploy into combat before the game enters Early Access in Summer 2026.
