Community Beat for 11 April

2025-04-11 - Von EVE Online Community Team

Welcome to the latest Community Beat, spacefriends. We've got a lot to talk about, so we'll dive straight in!

The Price of War

BWF-ZZ was the center of attention last weekend as Arhont Sibirskii and his 'Faceless Squad' started a battle by anchoring a Keepstar in Pandemic Horde's backyard. As the Keepstar came online, chaos ensued. 4000+ pilots fighting and over a trillion worth of ISK got destroyed.

Arhont published an After Action Report on Reddit and the Battle Report can be found here.

If that wasn't enough (it's never enough), two weeks ago Stay Frosty hosted their 11th annual Frigate Free For All. This edition turned out to be the second most destructive of their events with over 7000 ships exploding! Lurm the Slurm was in Amamake and streamed his experience.

More recently, around 150 billion ISK got destroyed when Minmatar Fleet attacked a Sedition-owned Metenox Moondrill in Huola. Many Abaddons were fielded and lost, before the fight escalated into a small dreadbrawl.

This screenshot from u/Risiker shows what the battlefield looked like when all was said and done.

Charity in Action

EVE Online may have a reputation for being dark and ruthless, but the community continues to show its generous side. The 2025 Charity Cup Tournament raised an impressive $3,500 for Weston Hospicecare. A great showing of PvP and real-world impact combined.

If you missed the finale, the VOD is available on our CCPTV Twitch Channel.

Spoiler alert! In a nail-biting best-of-five final, RageSub Cancel Quit emerged victorious over Alliance Tourrnament XX winners The Tuskers (aka Lazy Piglets).

Another opportunity to support a good cause is just around the corner! Starting 26 April at 11:00 UTC, Utric101 and Astral Acquisitions will be hosting a 24-hour (!) charity stream in support of Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People. This will include a BattleHauler and BattleLogi yeet fleet, A Spectre Fleet brawl and a Zappy Skybreaker lowsec roam, among other activities.

Community Team: Now in Action Figure Form

A new trend has been making the rounds and capsuleers are turning their in-game characters into custom action figures. Naturally, this got us thinking... What if we had our own line?

That's it for this edition of the Community Beat. We'll see you next time.
