Community Beat for 24 May

2025-05-24 - 发布者 EVE Online Community Team

Hello spacefriends and welcome to the latest Community Beat! It's been several weeks since the last Beat; the craziness of Fanfest and the whirlwind of delivering the EVE Legion expansion coming next week has consumed us but we're back with a roundup of some of the cool things happening in the community that were somehow able to penetrate the fugue of all the other goings on.

THIRD PARTY APPS

During Fanfest we announced renewed support for ESI and our third party developer ecosystem. It seems only fitting to highlight some of the newest tools that have emerged from the community.

Theorycrafter is a fitting tool for EVE Online. Now at version 1.6.0, Theoycrafter is a next-gen fitting tool for EVE Online and "aims to be fast, ergonomic and intuitive". Give it a try and see what you think!

Meanwhile, EVE Guru is a trading and manufacturing app which the creators claim will give you the edge in EVE Online's dynamic and complex market system.

EPIC SWAG

During the course of Fanfest 2025 we had some XFX Mercury Radeon RX 9070XT video cards to find homes for, courtesy of our partners AMD. Two of them went to the winning team of the EVE Leaderboards PvE event made up of Itaer and Meridthal from IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (aka Barcode; although we suspect based on their alliance name it's a Starcraft 2 smurf alliance). Another two went to smokieakm from Empyrean Edict and Pandalope from Goonswarm Federation who were the lucky winners of raffles held in the Fanfest livestream Twitch chat on Friday and Saturday.

Congrats to the winners of these awesome prizes!

LLOYD GEORGE CAN'T STOP, WON'T STOP

Famous EVE Online watercolor artist Lloyd George aka El_Geo had a booth at Fanfest this year where he met with EVE players and sold some of his awesome paintings. He came out of the gates again with this fantastic Thunderchild painting:

You can pick up this stunning piece as well as many others at his website. We also caught him sneakily painting watercolors for other sci-fi games but we agreed it would be fine as long as he painted a Taiidan missile destroyer for us. We're still waiting.

CALLING SKINR ARTISTS

On the official EVE Online Discord, Varag from Kitchen Sinkhole issued an invitation for SKINR artists to "be involved in a ship fashion show in game and live streamed on Twitch, prizes for the designers."

We suspect this is secretly a trick to recruit people since the forwarding address was the Kitchen Sinkhole Discord server but what's the worst that could happen? Pro tip: we learned on an airboat tour during EVE New Orleans that you can lure alligators using marshmallows (no, really!). So perhaps you can use that knowledge to bait a Kitchen Sinkhole fleet out of a wormhole to get a good fight.

GONE FISHING

Over on the EVE subreddit user sewistGoblin posted this adorable book of their exploits fishing for fortune in Abyssal Rifts. There's a whole story here that makes The Old Man and the Sea look like a kid's book. Check it trout!

MEETUPS!

Even though Fanfest was the focal point of in-person internet spaceship enthusiast congregation this month there are still other great EVE player meetups happening all over the globe!

The EVE Mad Town crew got together in Madison, WI to share their love of EVE (but probably wings, too) at the I/O Arcade Bar:

And there are other great meetups on the way:

That's all for this Beat! See you in a couple of weeks and we hope you enjoy EVE Legion coming to you on May 27!
